Marsilea Quadrifolia is the taller, roomier cousin in the clover carpet family, growing true four-leaf clover fronds that can stretch several inches instead of hugging the substrate like Hirsuta. That extra height makes it a solid midground or background filler rather than a strict carpet, spreading through creeping rhizomes that colonize open substrate over time. It handles low to moderate light without a fuss, making it a forgiving pick for tanks that aren't running heavy CO2, while still giving fry and shrimp plenty of leafy cover to disappear into.
